How you can help us and help others
|
Our National Helpline is currently open Monday, Tuesday 7:00 to 9:30pm and Thursday 12-2.30pm. This is our frontline service where we take calls from male survivors, their partners and carers, who are often reaching out for the first time. The helpline both provides emotional support and signposting to other services across the UK.
The helpline is staffed by Senior Helpliners and volunteer helpliners. Our volunteer helpliners are not qualified counsellors but receive a training from us before commencing volunteering on the helpline. Currently we have 2/3 points in the year in which we take on new volunteers, once they have been accepted after application and interview.
We ask that volunteers are able to volunteer 2 shifts per month as well as attend monthly group supervision and undertake to volunteer for a minimum of 12 months.
If you would like to become a helpline volunteer, please fill in the attached application form and return it to Georgina Hoare, Clinical Services Manager This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or post to 34 Great James Street, London WC1N 3HB.

"Taking to someone I felt knew a lot about the things I was scared to talk about made it easier."
