Many of the people who attend the groupwork programme at SurvivorsUK have experienced years of feeling silenced. They carry their pain internally and cracks can appear in the mask which they need to wear to face the world. At the group men have the opportunity to speak, to share their experience, to listen to others who have also felt silenced. Connections are made, bonds are forged and this forms the fertile soil in which people can begin to grow into the fullest, most vibrant version of themselves. In the final session of one of the groups, the men were given the opportunity visually to represent themselves at the beginning of the twelve sessions and themselves by the end. Mark Wells, who asked to be named, gave permission for his work to be shown.
