Have a confidential one-to-one conversation with a member of our team via Text Chat.
Text us at: 020 3322 1860
Whatsapp us at: 07491 816 064
During the service’s availability hours, just send a text to the number from your phone and someone will get back to you.
You will receive an initial confirmation that a helpliner is available and an automatic message asking for your age, gender and where in the country you’re contacting us from. Once you’ve answered this the chat session can begin.
There’s no pressure when you use text chat, you can use it as little or often as you like.
Text chat isn’t counselling – but it is a first step toward talking about the difficulties that survivors face.
Getting the most out of Text Chat
If you’re having a hard time and you want a question answered or a concern addressed, then text chat is a quick and easy way for you to get the help you need.
We’d recommend not using text chat if you want to have a longer conversation – our web chat service is ideal for this kind of communication. However, you should do whatever feels most comfortable for you.
Our helpliners won’t push you into anything, but equally if you do want to know specifics about SurvivorsUK we will be glad to answer those questions for you.
Text chat is handled by trained professionals and supervised volunteers who are happy to talk to survivors about their experiences and problems – the same team as our web-chat service.
What you can do next
You can continue using text chat as many times as you want. However, if you do feel like you want to move on to use our other services here is what we would recommend:
- Web chat
Web chat is a way for you to have longer conversations and is another step along the road of talking about your experiences.
If you feel ready, you can refer yourself for our counselling services in London. If you can’t get to London you can find a counsellor through our National Directory of Male Sexual Abuse Counselling Services.
